Dr. Sanjuan received her Bachelors degree (Licentiate, 1988) and PhD (2001) from UPV/EHU. Her teaching and research interests were developed as a predoctoral fellow at UPV/EHU (1997-2001) and as a postdoctoral fellow at both the University of Central Arkansas (2002-2004) and the College of Charleston (2004-2006). Presently she is Associate Professor at the Department of Basic Psychology and Development at UPV/EHU (2010 – present). She currently teaches "Attention, perception and motivation" along with "Learning, Behavior, and Cognition" to freshmen Psychology majors. Through her teaching interests she has coordinated two projects on teaching innovation. However, her main research theme focuses on uncovering associative and attentional mechanisms that underlie perceptual learning and contextual control of memory retrieval, serving as a Principal Investigator on two projects funded by the Spanish Science Ministry and serving on the research team for several other projects.
